Finalist in the Motor Transport Awards 2018

While we’re pleased to celebrate the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s new baby, we’re also delighted to announce that Cawleys has today been named as a finalist in the Motor Transport Award Scheme 2018 for ‘Best Use of Technology.’ The award recognises Cawleys use and application of innovative software to streamline its fleet and workshop operations, using R2C’s IT system. Cawleys operates a fleet of 75 vehicles, managed and serviced from its in-house workshop at the company’s headquarters in Luton. Cawleys shortlisted for two MRW National Recycling Awards

We have thrilled to announce that Cawleys have been shortlisted for an MRW National Recycling Awards @NRAwards, in the category of Resource Management Business of the Year. Cawleys and Cambridge Leisure Park have also been shortlisted for the MRW National Recycling Awards @NRAwards, in the category of Retail/Service Sector Recycler of the Year for the Hearts and Minds Circular Economy Campaign. The National Recycling Awards recognise and highlight the excellence and innovation present throughout the recycling and resource management industries today. These are the awards companies aspire to win, judged by the leading lights of the industry. Entries for this year’s National Recycling Awards were exceptional and to get through to the shortlist is an accomplishment in itself, so we are delighted to be shortlisted for two awards.

Award win: Green Apple Award Food Waste Reduction

The Cawleys Group, in partnership with Trinity Leeds shopping centre, celebrated winning the Food Waste Reduction award at the recent International Green Apple Awards for Environmental Practice ceremony held in London at the House of Commons. The Green Organisation acknowledged the new Leeds retail centre and The Cawleys Group, consisting of recycling and waste management company Cawleys and stakeholder engagement specialists Veris Strategies, for their recent ‘Make Your Mark’ campaign. The project launched in December 2014 in over 117 of Trinity Leeds retail outlets and in less than a year the project has had a massive impact in recycling and waste practices. Local communities have benefited from the ‘Make Your Mark’ campaign with Veris Strategies new and innovative community projects. A coffee grounds collection service has redistributed the coffee waste to public gardens and parks as a soil conditioner, providing a practical and greener recycling alternative. CIWM AWARD WIN: BEST RESOURCES PROJECT BY FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

Last month we mentioned being short listed in the Chartered Institute of Waste Management (CIWM) Award category for “Best Resources Project by Facilities Management” and now we’re delighted to say that our client Trinity Leeds won the award. The award recognises the results which the ‘Make Your Mark’ recycling and waste reduction and community outreach campaign has achieved at the new Leeds shopping centre. Delivered by the Cawleys and its partner company, Veris Strategies, the ‘Make Your Mark’ campaign has helped Trinity Leeds achieve outstanding resource management results in less than a year. New staff engagement initiatives, such as monthly rewards for the best performing retail tenants, and new recycling schemes including reclassifying all resources to make it easier to understand recycling categories, has led to an 83 per cent overall recycling rate and a zero waste to landfill achievement.
