Wenlock’s Eco-Warriors MRF Tour

We recently were fortunate enough to have some young Eco Warriors from Wenlock Junior School for a tour of our MRF site.  Our Operations Director Nigel Ingram took the small group from Wenlock round the facility showing them the process that goes into recycling of the various waste streams we have coming into our facility on a daily basis.

Wenlock currently have various waste streams recycled through our MRF site on a weekly basis,  the tour was intended to give the school kids a fun insight into the process of recycling and Nigel fielded multiple questions from the group throughout the tour who seemed really engaged throughout the visit!

We believe tours like these are extremely valuable at Cawleys, it is extremely important to educate the younger generation on environmental recycling and on what they can do to help make the planet more green as they grow up. With COP26 concluding recently, outlining some worrying impacts on the planet if we don't heed action now. It is crucial the youth of today are aware of what they can do to help make a difference for our planet for years to come.

We have a deep understanding of the importance of educating our youngsters in how to care for the environment, to minimise waste and maximise care for the natural resources of our planet.

You can’t beat seeing what happens to your waste to really get a feel for the issue to truly understand the waste journey and how a circular economy works. If you would like to see 'behind the scenes' tours of our MRF, please contact Nicky.severn@cawleys.co.uk
