At Cawleys we’re always thinking green and last year alone we generated nearly 2 million KWs of energy from waste.

The energy-from-waste process addresses both the need for clean, renewable energy, while reducing the need to landfill non-recyclable, residual waste, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions caused by landfilling.

Each tonne of residual waste has the energy value to produce about 600 kWh of renewable energy!

Zero Waste to Landfill

We have invested heavily in eco-positive technologies so that we can ensure our customers are firmly on the path towards zero landfill and sustainable waste management.

Our unique MRFs allow us to capture as much of the recyclable material as possible from the general waste stream, meaning that only the true, non-recyclable element is sent to one of our partner waste to energy technology plants. Anaerobic Digestion

As organic matter decomposes in landfills, it gives off a large variety of off-gases. One of the principle gases emitted by landfills is methane. 21 times more potent than CO2, methane contributes significantly to global warming.

At Cawleys we divert as much food waste as possible to the technology of Anaerobic Digestion through our longstanding partnership with BiogenGreenfinch.
